stereoviewheaven.com1870’s FRENCH TISSUE SERIESJULES VERNEACTUALITES THEATRALES TOUR DU MONDECLICK THE IMAGES TO ENTER
This is quite a special series of French handtinted tissue stereoviews. They are published by Jules Marinier (J.M.) in the 1870’s. This is one of a series called “Actualites Theatrales” (Theatrical News) and shows Jules Verne’s new (1872!) book “Tour du Monde” (fully described as A Trip around the World in 80 Days). It shows six theatrical stages. Each of those show two scenes in sequence. So there are 12 scenes in total.
As for the condition of this remarkable set. It has one view with heavy damage. One other has some damage on the backside. A few inkspots on two mounts. Furthermore only some general wear. We added pictures of the front sides, the front sides with backlight and the backsides. So this will give you a proper indication of the quality of these views.
