View: Excelsior Stereoscopic Tours from the UK. Here are two views, showing an assassination attempt on the Spanish King Alfonso XIII by Mateu Morral in Madrid, Spain. Alfonso XIII (1886 – 1941) reigned from 1886 to 1931. On May 31, 1906 he married Scottish-born Princess Victoria Eugenie (“Ena”) of Battenberg. She was a granddaughter of Queen Victoria of the UK. As Alfonso XIII and Queen Ena were returning from the wedding they narrowly escaped the assassination attempted by the anarchist Mateu Morral. Instead, the bomb explosion killed or injured many bystanders and members of the royal procession. For a closer look at the images and the description, click the views! Grade: 7. Grey curved mount stereoview, early 1900’s. Low contrast but furthermore a very nice view with good stereo effect. Price: $ 30 for both views together. Ordering number: SPN205
View: H. C. White, USA 1908. View says below right: “Furious charge of the bull stayed by lance of a picador planted between his shoulders.
