ATLANTA EXPOSITION 1895

The “Atlanta Cotton States and International Exposition” was known for the speech by black leader Booker T. Washington on September 18, 1895. The title “Atlanta Compromise” was given to the speech by mister Washington, who believed the Exposition was insufficiently committed to the pursuit of social and political equality for Blacks.
