Crystal Palace at Sydenham

This revolutionary huge glass and steel construction first served as a housing for the 1851 Hyde Park London World Exhibition. After that, the prefabricated building was dismantled and reconstructed in south-east London (1852-1854) as an entertainment centre. This views shows that reconstructed building in the 1860’s. It was destroyed by fire in 1936.
